Job summary

Poudre School District in Fort Collins, Colorado, is seeking a Paraprofessional II – Special Education to support elementary students with autism, behavior support, or significant needs. The role involves implementing instruction, adapting materials, and assisting with health-related tasks under supervision.

The position is full-time, with a pay range of $20.42–$22.87 per hour and a 186-day calendar; benefits include health, dental, life insurance, PERA retirement and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with special-needs students preferred.
• CPI certification to be completed within three months of hire.
• Paraprofessional Academy classes required within first two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instruction and reteach concepts for students with significant needs.
• Adapt materials to meet individual learning goals.
• Implement behavior strategies and support student safety.
• Respond to escalations and de-escalate crises when needed.
• Monitor students in various settings and assist during transitions.
• Provide health-related assistance under nurse guidance as required.
• Maintain records and assist with IEP documentation.
