Job summary

Waterloo Community School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator/Instructional Assistant for Cunningham School for Excellence, Waterloo, IA. You will assist in providing instruction to students individually or in small groups under a teacher's direction and support IEP/504 plans as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, maintaining records, and participating in professional development and PBIS initiatives to support a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• NCLB compliance – 60 college credit hours or district competency test.
• Computer/technology training as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing instruction to individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Participate in professional development and IEP/behavior meetings when applicable.
• Monitor and report progress of students in behavior and academics; communicate with teachers.
