Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 is seeking a Counselor - Social Emotional Learning (Elementary) to provide building-level support, counseling, coaching and training to implement the district MTSS-based SEL model.

The SEL Counselor reports to the MTSS Coordinator and building Principal(s). The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience with SEL, a valid Illinois Professional Educators License, CPI certification within 3 months, and the ability to collaborate with staff,

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with students with social/emotional/behavioral challenges.
• Experience working with low socio-economics and minority students.
• Must be CPI certified within 3 months of employment.
• Commitment to raising achievement and closing gaps.
• Knowledge of Illinois SEL Standards, PBIS, and MTSS processes.

• Analyze student data to identify patterns and at‑risk populations.
• Provide counseling and group guidance to support social, emotional, and academic needs.
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and outside agencies.
• Implement MTSS-based SEL programs and data collection practices.
• Attend school events and support MTSS coordinators and principals.
