Job summary

Spindle is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for the 26/27 academic year to support upper elementary students in a school-based SDC program. This full-time position emphasizes inclusive, differentiated instruction and collaboration with general education staff, families, and service providers.

You will develop IEPs, monitor progress, adapt curriculum, and maintain records, with weekly pay at $45 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current California CTC certification with Mild/Moderate authorization.
• Experience in a school-based setting, preferably at the elementary level.
• Proven track record of creating inclusive, engaging, and differentiated instruction.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and support personnel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized academic instruction to an upper elementary Special Day Class (SDC) caseload.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
• Adapt general curriculum to meet students' individual learning needs.
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture that promotes student independence and success.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to support students' holistic development.
• Maintain accurate records, conduct assessments, and participate in team meetings.
• Attend professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education.
