Job summary
Spindle in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a dedicated elementary special education teacher with mild to moderate needs for a full-time, contract placement. You will deliver instruction aligned to IEP goals, track progress, and apply proactive behavior interventions in a supportive, inclusive classroom.
You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, communicate with families, and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Valid California CTC Certification in Mild/Moderate Special Education.
- Experience supporting elementary students with behavioral challenges.
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs.
- Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and administrators.
- Adaptability, patience, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student's IEP goals.
- Track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for outcomes.
- Employ proactive strategies to address behavioral needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, structured classroom environment.
- Engage in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development.
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with district and legal requirements.
