Job summary

Paul Robeson Charter School is seeking passionate Elementary School Teaching Assistants for the 2026-27 school year. The role involves assisting in teaching all core subjects and supporting 1st grade under the guidance of lead teachers.

Responsibilities include planning, differentiated instruction, and regular coaching as part of a collaborative, standards-based program. A bachelor’s degree and NJ certification within two years are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Experience driving student achievement results.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Must hold or be actively working to obtain NJ teacher certification within the first year of employment and completed by the second year.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide excellent instruction aligned to state standards.
• Develop detailed lesson plans, materials, homework, and assessments.
• Provide differentiated learning opportunities to support each student’s growth.
• Set clear expectations for student engagement and accountability.
• Collaborate with colleagues to increase engagement and achievement.
• Engage with families and participate in school-wide family engagement activities.
