Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools – Mount Zion Primary in Jonesboro, Georgia seeks an Elementary School Teacher for World Language to teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural studies.

You will plan engaging lessons, assess student progress, provide timely feedback, and communicate with families while keeping an organized, student-centered classroom. A Bachelor’s degree and Georgia teaching certification (T-4 to T-7) are required; one year of teaching experience is preferred.

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Instructor will teach content-specific grammar, spelling, pronunciation, vocabulary, and composition. Guides students on content-specific conversation. Teach students about content-specific language literature, culture, and history.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creating engaging lesson plans; planning classroom activities to motivate students; preparing visual aids; grading homework and exams; coaching students individually or as a group.
• Communicating with parents and other teachers about a student's progress and other tasks as assigned.
• Providing specific and timely feedback on academic efforts, behavior and work quality, and maintaining a classroom that is designed and organized for maximal student learning.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
• Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC.
• Normal classroom/school setting.
• Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. Light duty – On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.
