Job summary

South Orange - Maplewood Public Schools is seeking a Leave Replacement Elementary School Teacher (G.1) for Tuscan Elementary School. Position available January 2027 through June 2027, 1.0 FTE.

The role teaches the elementary curriculum to K-5 students and requires NJ certification or eligibility. Starting salary ranges from $70,000 to $100,315 for a Bachelor's degree, with benefits including medical and dental insurance, pension, paid sick/personal days, tuition reimbursement, and life

Qualifications

• New Jersey Elementary School Teacher Certification or eligibility.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with diverse learning communities or cultural competency training/work preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

Responsibilities

• Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.
