The Teacher is a highly qualified, state-certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. They monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system. Teachers work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to support each student’s learning goals. Typically, teachers work from home but must travel occasionally for school functions, such as state testing.

This is a full-time position requiring independent work, typically 40+ hours per week. A professional home office setup is required, with work hours generally from 8-5 or as defined by the school.

Essential Functions

• Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Personalize learning for all students
• Maintain high expectations and belief in student success
• Differentiates instruction based on mastery levels
• Use appropriate tools under guidance to augment content
• Maintain grade books, make promotion decisions, and report concerns
• Prepare students for standardized tests
• Establish positive rapport with families and communicate regularly
• Support learning coaches/parents with instructional issues and troubleshooting

• Travel approximately once per month (~20%) for professional development and testing

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Clear background check

Compensation & Benefits

Salaries are determined based on education, experience, qualifications, location, travel, market, and internal factors, usually in the lower half of the range.
