Role Description

Rogers Park Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a full-time, on-site Elementary School Teacher to join our Gifted Program. The ideal candidate will lead one homeroom class focused on Language Arts, utilizing the Wit and Wisdom curriculum and engaging students in project-based learning. Additionally, the teacher will instruct one math class comprised of students from various classrooms, grouped by skill level to ensure appropriate challenge and pacing.

This role emphasizes both academic excellence and social-emotional development. Instruction is grounded in the Habits of Mind and Growth Mindset frameworks, which are integrated into classroom discussions, daily activities, and student reflection. The goal is to cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and a love for lifelong learning.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Proven experience in elementary education, including curriculum development
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support a wide range of learners
• Commitment to working with diverse student populations

Preferred:

• At least 6 credit hours of coursework focused on gifted education or instructional strategies for gifted learners (if not current, may be taken within the first year of employment).
