Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit network of high-performing public charter schools dedicated to closing the college gap. We are seeking a School Social Worker to provide direct counseling services, manage casework, and collaborate with families and educators to support student success.

Requirements include a Master’s in Social Work with LMSW/LCSW and NYDOE certification. Urban-school experience and a commitment to Uncommon’s mission are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work with LMSW or LCSW licensure is required.
• Valid NYDOE School Social Worker Certification required.
• Drive to improve students’ minds and lives in and out of the classroom.
• Proven high-achievement track record and urban-school experience preferred.
• Belief in Uncommon’s core beliefs and educational philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to elementary school students including crisis intervention.
• Conduct individual and group school-based counseling.
• Develop and implement social-emotional development interventions.
• Serve as Case Manager and member of Child Study Team.
• Engage families and coordinate with community resources.
• Assist with school-wide activities and professional development.
