Job summary

Wiscasset School Department in Maine is seeking a full-time Elementary School Social Worker to join our student support team. This role supports students across pre-K through 5th grade, promoting well-being, equity, and access to learning within a trauma-informed framework, and partners with families and teachers to foster a positive, inclusive school climate.

Qualifications

• MSW degree required.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
• Experience working with children in educational or clinical settings preferred.
• Maine Department of Education CHRC approval to work in a Maine school.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health services to students within the school setting (individual and group sessions).
• Address social, emotional, or behavioral concerns as they impact educational progress.
• Collaborate with parents to increase understanding and participation and connect families with resources.
• Conduct home visits per established protocols to support connections between families and the school.

Education

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
