Job summary

Southampton Elementary School is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker as a Leave Replacement to support student social, emotional, and academic well-being. You will provide targeted counseling, crisis support, and family engagement within a collaborative Student Personnel Services team.

Leave dates are 11/10/2026 to 12/11/2026; NYS certifications, LMSW/LCSW, and MSW are required. Bilingual Spanish preferred; fingerprint clearance and IEP/504 experience are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS School Social Worker Certification (Provisional or Permanent).
• Current NYS LMSW or LCSW license.
• Mandatory NYS Workshops: Child Abuse Identification/Reporting, SAVE, DASA.
• Active NYS Education Department Fingerprint Clearance.
• MSW from an accredited institution.
• Experience in K-12 education and crisis intervention preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students as required by IEPs/504s/RTI-MTSS.
• Deliver trauma-informed crisis response and risk assessments as needed.
• Participate in CSE meetings; assist with FBAs and BIPs.
• Bridge families with community mental health resources and supports.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement behavioral supports.
• Support DASA and school climate initiatives.
• Maintain accurate session notes and state-compliant documentation.
