Responsibilities

• Assess, interpret and provide health care to students and staff in both general and emergency situations.
• Administer medications, perform procedures and treatments to support student health and well-being.
• Liaise between school and home by communicating with parents/guardians regarding health needs.
• Maintain accurate student health records and complete service logs and Medicaid billing and reporting.
• Coordinate and supervise vision and hearing screenings and referrals.
• Develop individualized care plans for students with health conditions with families and medical providers.
• Provide staff with current health information and training on a confidential basis.
• Complete mandated health reports to comply with health laws.
• Assist families in accessing health care via community resources.
• Participate in professional development to maintain licensure and grow professionally.
• Support training of new school nurses in the district.
• Coordinate emergency cardiac response team in the assigned building.
