Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Washington State Food Handler’s permit.
• Basic reading, record keeping, and mathematics skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• 1+ years experience in commercial or institutional quantity food preparation.
• Experience with point of service computer program.
• Experience keeping production records.
• Experience working with young people.
• Experience with HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch with high nutritive value.
• Ensure use of standardized recipes and portion controls.
• Maintain inventory using FIFO system.
• Check goods received against orders and correct discrepancies.
• Maintain high safety and sanitation standards for staff and students.
• Meet USDA standards for National School Lunch Program participation.
• Wash dishes and keep kitchen clean.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments.
• Handle multiple demands in high-pressure situations.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Interact positively with the public, other agencies, and district staff.
• Communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Work with minimal supervision and be flexible.
