Job summary

Poway Unified School District is seeking a Food and Nutrition Assistant II to support school nutrition operations. You will prepare and serve meals, handle cashiering, and maintain clean, sanitary kitchens across elementary sites.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and six months of related food service experience; a Food Safety Manager Certificate must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Most shifts are 16.25–18.75 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold menu items at an elementary school nutrition center.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions of centers, equipment and utensils.
• Perform cashiering and money handling duties; operate cash management system.
• Order food and supplies; manage records as needed.
