Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Valid South Carolina Elementary School Counseling certification required.

Responsibilities

• Works with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom.
• Guides in decision making for academics and personal/social development.
• Helps students evaluate interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personal characteristics for educational planning.
• Consults with outside resources/agencies to maximize and coordinate services.
• Consults with parents regarding their children, school-related issues, and meetings for special purposes.
• Assists students in developing self-confidence and a positive self-concept.
• Assists students in strengthening interpersonal skills.
• Attends staff, professional and inter-agency meetings.
• Confers with teachers and parents as needed.
• Participates in regular staff meetings and ongoing trainings.
