Qualifications

• Degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid license in School Counseling.
• Minimum of 2 years in a school-based counseling role.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Commitment to child safeguarding and ethical practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to address students’ emotional, social, and academic needs.
• Deliver SEL classroom lessons aligned with ACS Athens frameworks and philosophy.
• Communicate proactively with families; offer support, resources, and guidance to ensure student wellbeing.
• Partner with teachers and staff to promote positive learning environments and student success.
• Participate in Child Study Teams and contribute to developing support plans and intervention strategies.
• Support new students and families through orientation and integration initiatives (e.g., peer buddy program).
• Engage in programs that promote character education, wellness, and anti-bullying awareness.
• Provide support during critical incidents to ensure safety and care for the school community.
• Commit to ongoing learning and apply best practices in school counseling and child development.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Elementary School Principal.
