Classroom projects should reflect the school’s core values, including cultural equity, sustainability, and interdisciplinary studies. The Art Teacher will develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

Classroom projects should reflect the school’s core values, including cultural equity, sustainability, and interdisciplinary studies. The Art Teacher will develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in education, Art, or similar discipline is required
- A teaching credential in art or an MFA in visual arts is preferred
- 3+ years of experience working as an art instructor for grades 3-6 is required
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and willing to take initiative
- Must have excellent teamwork skills
- Requires the ability to work well with children and adults
- Must be a role model in embracing and living out the school’s mission, goals, and criteria
- Experience with independent schools is preferred but not required
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement lessons in accordance with the Elementary School art curriculum and learning objectives.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into the classroom curriculum.
- Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and creativity.
- Adjust lesson plans and teaching strategies to accommodate different learning profiles.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in professional development to stay current on educational trends and best practices.
- Monitor and care for the supply inventory.
- Record and report student progress.
- Participate in parent/guardian conferences as needed.
- Create opportunities to showcase students’ art throughout the campus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required.

Salary Range: $71,622-$88,550
