Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking licensed Special Education Teachers to support Elementary Resource Room openings for a school district in Waynesville, North Carolina for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity is ideal for experienced SPED teachers who value collaboration, structured support, and the ability to make a measurable impact on students’ social-emotional and behavioral development.

Start date is August 11, 2026, with a 35-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Required Degree in Special Education.
• Valid NC DPI teaching license with Special Education Endorsement.
• Prior experience as SPED in a resource room setting for Elementary students.
• Strong classroom management experience.
• Experience with IEP development and ECATS.

Responsibilities

• Work with students, parents, and educators to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Assess individual learning needs and abilities.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and learning goals.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional materials and methods.
• Implement teaching strategies for diverse learning needs.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of progress and update plans accordingly.
• Communicate progress with parents, teachers, and professionals.
• Support mainstream teachers working with students with learning difficulties.

Special Education Teacher (SPED) – Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with students, parents, and other educators to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Assessing individual learning needs and abilities
• Developing individualized educational plans and setting learning goals
• Collaborating with teachers to adapt and modify instructional materials and teaching techniques to meet students’ needs.
• Implementing teaching strategies and techniques that are appropriate for students with a variety of learning difficulties.
• Providing one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction
• Monitoring students’ progress and adjusting instruction as needed.
• Maintaining detailed records of students’ progress and updating educational plans accordingly
• Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals about students’ progress and needs
• Providing support and guidance to mainstream teachers working with students with learning difficulties
