Job summary

The Meadows Center for Preventing Education Risk (MCPER) at The University of Texas at Austin seeks Reading Interventionists to support elementary students in Hutto ISD. Join a collaborative team delivering small-group reading instruction; positions start late September and may extend through May, with training in October and instruction beginning in November.

Responsibilities include teaching word reading and comprehension, traveling to schools, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant experience.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong English language proficiency.
• Willing to travel to Hutto ISD and have a reliable vehicle.
• Security background check will be required for all reading interventionists.

Responsibilities

• Teach students to help them improve their word reading and reading comprehension skills.
• Travel to Hutto ISD schools.
• Receive training on providing high-quality instruction using lesson plans developed by the MCPER research team (4 paid training dates in mid-October).
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
