Job summary

MAHOMET-SEYMOUR CUSD 3 SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Paraprofessional for Middletown Prairie Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The paraprofessional will support instructional and behavioral needs under certified staff guidance and assist with materials, supervision, and student social-emotional development.

Qualifications

• Must have Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or Short-Term Approval or be able to obtain one before employment.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills.
• Assist with implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans.
• Help supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned times.
• Assist with preparing instructional materials and maintaining an organized classroom environment.
• Support students' social-emotional development while fostering positive relationships.
