Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Complete Para Pro or Workkeys Assessment or 48 hours of college.
• Basic communication skills to exchange information, give/receive simple instructions and respond to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Assists with instruction and activities for individuals or for groups as assigned by teacher.
• Prepares, creates, and adapts instructional materials and aids; assists students with assignments.
• Serves as chief source of information for substitute teachers.
• Assists teacher with student behavior management strategies; alerts teacher to special needs of students.
• Assist with grading student work, attendance, and other paperwork for students.
• May assist with personal care needs and minor first aid.
• Performs housekeeping duties to keep classroom neat and clean.
• Operates photocopier, laminator, and other small machines; uses computer for simple tasks like email.
• May supervise playground, hall, or cafeteria as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
