Geary County USD 475 is seeking an Elementary MTSS Coach / Interventionist to lead the development and implementation of MTSS in our school. The role focuses on coaching teachers, planning Tier II/III interventions, and using data to tailor instruction for students at risk.

The position requires Kansas teaching certification and a minimum of five years of experience with at-risk or behavior-challenged students, plus strong collaboration and leadership skills to support a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified teacher with full state of Kansas certification.
• Minimum of five years successful teaching experience with at risk or behavior challenged students.
• Expert knowledge of intervention planning for students not successful in Tier 1.
• Exceptional knowledge in the use of assessments and analysis of assessment data to inform instruction and prescribe work plans for individual students.
• Expert knowledge in research based instructional strategies and ability to implement them effectively.
• Exceptional knowledge in the use of technology to support instruction.
• Demonstrate ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving instruction.
• Ascribes to the philosophy that all children can succeed and demonstrates the commitment to do what is necessary to make this a reality.
• Demonstrates exceptional skill in the roles of a teacher leader: collaborator, action researcher, reflective practitioner, and learner advocate.

Responsabilités

• Guide and facilitate the school in the development and implementation of MTSS models and frameworks.
• Provide targeted, short-term coaching around specific practices and strategies.
• Explain, model and provide feedback on effective teaching strategies.
• Planning and preparation for Tier II and III instructional/social-emotional interventions based upon students' needs.
• Work collaboratively with grade level, content, and elective teams through weekly meetings to assist with intervention strategies.
• Work collaboratively with counselors and other support staff to monitor MTSS plans.
• Develop MTSS program goals and objectives, planning and implementation, and evaluation procedures that ensure results.
• Coordinate the acquisition or materials and equipment needed to support MTSS interventions.
• Manage, analyze, and utilize student data at each tier to ensure that interventions are matched to student need, carried out with fidelity, and intensified based on data.
• Work collaboratively with staff to implement Social Emotional programs.
• Work collaboratively to support the Behavior Intervention programs and staff.
• Train and provide ongoing professional development to all stakeholders about the MTSS structure, components, and interventions established.
• Collection of student data and analysis according to the district guidelines for MTSS.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
