Job summary

CREC Reggio Magnet School of the Arts in Connecticut seeks a long-term substitute MLL teacher to cover a leave of absence. RMS serves PreK–Grade 5 as a full-day interdistrict magnet school inspired by Reggio Emilia principles.

The teacher will plan lessons, assess student progress, differentiate instruction, and collaborate with grade-level teams while maintaining accurate records and communicating with families.

Qualifications

• CT State Certification as a TESOL Teacher, preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related discipline.
• Masters degree preferred.
• Successful prior teaching experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with district goals.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates them into learning experiences.
• Assesses student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual needs; conducts small group instruction as needed.
• Instructs students in responsible citizenship and other mandated subjects; communicates with parents.
• Maintains records, grading, and reporting for student activities as required by district procedures.
