Job summary

Carden Conejo School in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking an Elementary/Middle School Soccer Coach to create a safe, positive, competitive environment for student-athletes. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, you will teach fundamental soccer skills, lead practices, and prepare the team for league competition.

You will foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development, while ensuring inclusion, challenge, and support throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Prior soccer coaching experience at the high school level or above.
• Prior soccer playing experience at the high school level or above.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification required prior to the start of practices.
• Must complete all school-required background screening and Live Scan prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead organized, age-appropriate soccer practices.
• Teach fundamental soccer skills including dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, defending, positioning, and ball control.
• Develop game strategy and age-appropriate formations.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
• Develop practice plans emphasizing skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and sportsmanship.
• Encourage teamwork, inclusion, and positive communication among players.
• Maintain safety and organized, competitive environment.
• Communicate with Athletic Director, parents, and student-athletes about schedules and updates.
• Maintain soccer equipment and ensure safe usage.
