Qualifications

• Previous experience coaching soccer or playing soccer at a competitive level.
• Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and player development.
• Experience working with adolescents in an educational or athletic setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to create a positive and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Commitment to fostering teamwork, inclusion, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Head Coach for the Middle School Girls Soccer Team.
• Plan, organize, and lead all practices, matches, and team activities.
• Teach fundamental and intermediate soccer skills, including dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, defending, positioning, and tactical decision‑making.
• Develop age-appropriate training sessions that support individual skill development and team growth.
• Promote teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, resilience, and a strong sense of commitment among student‑athletes.
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants during practices, matches, and team travel.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging team culture that supports student confidence and character development.
• Collaborate with the Athletics Department regarding scheduling, communication, and program development.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, families, and school staff.
• Support and uphold Canterbury School's mission, values, and community standards.
• Assist with equipment management, uniform distribution, field setup, and match‑day preparation.
• Encourage academic balance, personal responsibility, and respectful conduct among student‑athletes.
