Elementary/Middle School Science Teacher

Responsibilities
  • Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership, fostering students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide daily instruction with clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and assessments aligned to curriculum and standards.
  • Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences to broaden student interests and foster ingenuity.
  • Maintain a visually appealing classroom environment with resources aligned to standards and displays of exemplary student work.
  • Communicate with students to understand their talents, interests, and needs, and convey learning expectations and progress.
  • Engage regularly with families to discuss student talents, interests, needs, and progress.
  • Collaborate with staff in meetings, analysis sessions, and professional development to enhance student learning.
Qualifications
  • Experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of Praxis II Exam
  • One year of teaching experience with demonstrated student growth
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Two years of teaching experience with demonstrated student achievement
