Job summary

Splendora Independent School District seeks a MakerSpace Paraprofessional to lead scheduled MakerSpace activities under campus supervision.

Responsibilities include facilitating hands-on projects, guiding students through design challenges, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment. Strong STEM interest and classroom management are essential; prior experience with children is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or completion of two years of college hours preferred if no degree.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate MakerSpace classes and activities using district-approved plans.
• Present directions, expectations, and activity objectives to students.
• Guide students through hands-on projects and technology activities.
• Demonstrate proper use of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist students in understanding and completing activities.
• Encourage planning, design, and iterative improvement.
• Promote creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Provide prompts to develop independent solutions.
