Job summary

Livingston Elementary School in Spotsylvania, VA is seeking an hourly Cafeteria Monitor to supervise and assist students at lunch during the 2025-2026 school year. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, orderly cafeteria environment, helping with table cleanliness, food disposal, and encouraging good manners.

Starting date is immediate, with duties assigned by the Cafeteria Manager. Citizenship, residency or work visa required; compensation is $13.18 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Circulate among the tables during the mealtime so as to be available to children who need help.
• Assist the janitorial staff with the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas by washing tables when students leave the cafeteria.
• Assist in establishing, implementing and supervising orderly disposal of food waste return of trays and dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Help students develop proper eating habits in theareas of manners and nutrition.
• Observe students not eating lunch and call to the attention of school nurse.
• Perform any other duties or responsibilities designated bythe Cafeteria Manager.
