Job summary

Lawrence Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute to cover classes at Parthum Elementary School. Reporting to the Principal, you will provide instruction, maintain routines, deliver engaging lessons, and support student learning in the absence of the full-time teacher.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree, English proficiency, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with staff. Massachusetts licensure is preferred; prior substitute teaching experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Massachusetts Licensure preferred.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and administration.
• Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established routines and procedures of the assigned school and classroom.
• Create and deliver lesson plans or follow those outlined by the absent teacher.
• Implement instructional strategies that promote quality academic and social development.
• Maintain discipline and classroom control in accordance with district policies.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.
• Demonstrate professional practices in teaching and classroom management.
• Model correct use of oral and written language.
• Remain at school during the entire day unless excused by administration.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or designated representative.
