Job summary

Washington Elementary School PreK-4 in Lowell, MA is seeking a Paraprofessional, CSA 2-4 for a long-term substitute to support classroom instruction and student activities. You will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher to implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences for students with and without special needs.

The role requires experience with the appropriate age group and the ability to assist with routines, field trips, and safe classroom management.

Qualifications

• Successfully passed the Paraprofessional test, OR 48 college credits or more, OR a Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• Experience with the appropriate age group.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for students.
• Assist students in entering and exiting the building and classrooms, including lifting and carrying of students.
• Assist teacher during field trips and emergency drills.
• Assist with classroom routines such as snacks, dishes, cleanup, bathroom duties and related tasks.
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment for children and support the principal as assigned.
