Job summary

Winchendon Public Schools is seeking a Certified Library Media Specialist to support Memorial and Toy Town Elementary Schools. The LMS will deliver curriculum-aligned library instruction, guide students in information literacy, and collaborate with teachers to design engaging units that promote critical thinking and digital citizenship.

The role requires MA licensure in library services, SEI endorsement, and a strong commitment to reading, research, and equitable access to information resources

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; Master's in library/inf sci from ALA-accredited program.
• Massachusetts license in Library - All Levels; SEI Endorsement required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with teachers, staff and parents to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design, teach, and assess learning experiences that incorporate inquiry learning and information literacies.
• Promote a love of reading and lifelong learning.
• Teach search techniques, including online search engines, databases, and catalogs.
• Differentiate instruction and provide RTI-based opportunities.
• Maintain records and align library program to standards and district requirements.
