Job summary

Great Hearts Blossom Rock in Apache Junction, AZ seeks an Elementary Lead Teacher for grades K-2. You will build a welcoming classroom, implementing the Great Hearts curriculum and guiding students to lifelong curiosity.

You will work with an Assistant Teacher, follow Spalding Phonics and Singapore Mathematics content, and collaborate with families and school leadership to support student growth; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role.
• Certification is not required for general education.
• All majors are welcome.
• US work authorization is required, but OPT/CPT candidates are accepted.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance.
• Travel locally for training and professional development opportunities may be required.

K-2 Lead Teaching Role:

• As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.

• Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.

• As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.

• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.

• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Required/Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role

• Certification is not required for general education
