Chandler Unified School District is seeking an Elementary Lead Custodian to manage cleaning operations at SAN MARCOS ELEMENTARY in Chandler, AZ. The role supports a 12-month schedule with a lead differential and benefits including retirement, health and life insurance, PTO, and wellness programs.

Starting immediately, the position requires a high school diploma, the ability to read/write English, custodial experience, and a clear background check.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English as pertains to job functions
• Progressively responsible custodial experience
• Satisfactory criminal background check
• Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties relating to cleaning the school site
• Direct and monitor the work of custodians and provide training on an ongoing basis
• Order custodial supplies
• Provide input to the principal for custodian evaluations
• Accurately maintains and cleans custodial equipment
• Cleans assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
• Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors
• Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
• Zero waste management of trash receptacles
• Move furniture and equipment based on facility needs
• Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
• Monitor and maintain readiness of building safety systems and extinguishers
• Report safety hazards and needs for major repairs
• Secure the facility and manage emergency custodial duties
