Job summary

Marion City Schools seeks an Elementary School Specialized Learning Center Teacher (Intervention Specialist) for the 2026-27 school year. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction to students with disabilities within alignment to Ohio standards.

You will collaborate with general education staff, develop IEPs, and provide adaptive strategies to support individual student growth while maintaining professional responsibilities and family communication.

Qualifications

• Certificate, license, or other legal credential required.
• Degree(s) required in area of major study.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provides a basic core program and academic curriculum for students with disabilities.
• Works cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities for staff and students.
• Confers with parents and professional staff regarding educational, social, and personal needs.
• Assists screening, evaluating, and recommending placements in the district’s program for students with disabilities.
• Develops an Individualized Education Program (IEP) with measurable goals aligned to Ohio standards.
• Maintains safety and supervision of students and paraprofessionals.
