Job summary

West Fargo Public Schools seeks an Instructional Paraprofessional at Freedom Elementary School to support learners under the supervision of an educator. The role focuses on small group instruction and interventions to boost reading and overall academic achievement.

The position is a 182-day term following the school calendar, with a Monday–Friday schedule of about 6.5 hours per day and a starting pay of $17.50–$20.25 per hour, depending on experience, within the classified salary schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior library experience preferred.
• Experience with elementary school learners preferred.
• General computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Educator to provide additional interventions for learners.
• Supports the Reading Program to provide additional interventions for learners.
• Provides information to learners, staff, and administration by answering questions and requests.
• Develops effective working relationships with learners and staff.
• Reinforces lessons by reviewing material with learners one-on-one or in small groups.
• Enforces school and classroom rules to help instill appropriate behaviors (CHAMPS).
• Utilizes technology to communicate and to record/report data.
• Communicates ideas with integrity.
