Job summary

Lexington County School District One is seeking an Instructional Assistant, Elementary to support teachers and students in the classroom. Under general supervision, you will reinforce materials, assist with small groups, and monitor student behavior.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 60 college credit hours or an associate degree, and passing ParaPro/ParaPathways. Schedule is 7 hours per day for 185 days; salary on the district Support Staff Schedule Grade 7.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• An associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Passing score on the ParaPro or ParaPathways assessment.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces materials introduced by the teacher with individual students or small groups.
• Assists teachers with classroom activities and routine tasks.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.
• Supports students with special education needs toward IEP goals.
• Provides push-in or pull-out instruction as appropriate.
• Utilizes technology and office equipment for daily tasks.
• Reports to the Lead Interventionist and instructional staff as required.
