Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a Paraprofessional, Instructional to support classroom instruction under the supervision of the teacher. This position is in the Leadership division and reports to the Principal, with 181 workdays in the year.

The role requires paraprofessional certification or equivalent educational credits, physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and strong written and spoken communication to assist with student activities, assessments, and materials preparation.

Qualifications

• Educational levels and GaPSC paraprofessional certification as required above.
• GaPSC Paraprofessional Certificate or equivalent training is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Exhibits professionalism in all job-related situations; follows professional ethics in all work-related activities; presents a personal appearance which enhances the image of the school.
• Follows all county, state and federal policies and procedures.
• Conducts small group or individual classroom activities based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Assists with supervision of students.
• Assists with student assessment, grading work and test and collecting data on student progress.
• Assists with routine record keeping.
• Assists with the preparation of materials for instruction.
• Locates, operates, and returns equipment required for classroom activities.
• Assists with classroom housekeeping.
• Assists in the ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
• Assists with school-wide supervision, such as loading/unloading buses.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
