HIAWATHA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Othello, Washington is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers with small group and individual instruction. The role involves assisting in all areas, correcting student work, and helping monitor objectives.

You will work with students on safety, self-help, speech, and motor skills, translating as needed. This position is part of the district’s instructional team and requires active participation in behavior support and class activities.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• AA degree or 48 semester credits or 72 quarter credits or having passed the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
• Dependable, trustworthy with experience working with children and adults; good time management and initiative.
• Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and move as required.

Responsabilités

• Assist teachers with small group and individual instruction.
• Assist teachers in all areas of their work and monitor student objectives.
• Correct daily work assignments of students in all areas.
• Operate equipment (copy machines, video equipment, computers, etc.).
• Support students in teacher-monitored classrooms and participate in IEP teams.
• Provide activities and instruction as planned by teachers.
• Maintain student safety and implement behavioral strategies.
