Job summary

Wayne Township Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Counselor at Ryerson Elementary School. The role requires NJ School Counselor certification and a Master’s degree in Guidance or related field, with experience in K-5 counseling and anti-bullying strategies.

Qualifications

• NJ credential as School Counselor is required.
• Master's degree in Guidance or Student Personnel Services.
• Experience with K-5 student population.
• Preferred training in bullying and violence prevention, counseling and substance abuse prevention.

Responsibilities

• Assist students to reach maximum potential and support under-achieving students.
• Provide crisis, counseling, and educational interventions as part of school teams.
• Coordinate Intervention and Referral Services from preschool through grade 5.
• Lead INRS meetings and maintain documentation.
• Deliver class presentations and provide educational resources to the school community.
• Support the transition to middle school and collaborate with staff and parents.
