Qualifications

• EC-4 or EC-6 Generalist Certification.
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university.

• ESL Certification is required within twelve months of employment for K-5 General Education, 6-12 English Language Arts Reading (ELAR), and Special Education (SPED) ACL Teachers.
• 30 hour GT foundation training completed.

Responsibilities

• Use strategies to increase student performance on content area and assessments.
• Push into GT classrooms to support differentiated instruction.
• Coordinate co-teach models with the general education classroom teacher.
• Plan lessons reflecting accommodations for individual student differences.
• Promote high level expectations and recognize excellence in achievement.
• Coordinate UIL events and GT assessments.
• Supervise instructional assistants and volunteers.
• Maintain open communication with students and parents.
