Responsibilities

• Monitor students during breakfast and/or lunch.
• Assist with food preparation and serving according to menus and portion guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
• Wipe tables, sweep under tables, and assist with breaking down cafeteria setups.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the Food Services department and school community.

Job description

Providence Hall is a charter school located in Herriman UT. Central to the school's mission is teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly.

Providence Hall is accepting applications for part-time food services staff to join our team at either our Elementary campus.

Schedule:

• During the school year Monday, Wednesday, & Fridays 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Schedule is subject to change, but position is based off of 17 hours per week.
• Department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings

Responsibilities:

• Monitor students during breakfast and/or lunch.
• Use the school's positive behavior intervention system to reward students.
• Assist with food preparation, including portioning, plating, and basic prep work under kitchen staff direction.
• Serve lunch to students in accordance with posted menus and portion guidelines.
• Perform general kitchen tasks, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces and equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.
• Wipe and clean tables. Sweep under tables.
• Assist students during meal times with items needing to be opened.
• Assist with breaking down the cafeteria tables.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the food services department and school in general.
• Maintain effective communication channels to ensure a collaborative school community.
• Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Possess an even temper and good work ethic.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask easily.
• Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.
• Willing to effectively problem-solving as needed.
• Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.
• Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
• Work in a loud, noisy environment around many youth.
• Obtain a Food Handler's permit within 2 weeks of starting work.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., traverse school facility, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
