Job summary

Qualifications

• 60 semester hours in Human Services or Education;Bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience in Human Services or Education.
• Experience working with community organizations.
• Experience working with children and families in diverse circumstances.
• Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Experience developing and/or leading workshops and training.
• Experience facilitating meetings.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Strong problem solving skills and confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Family and Community Engagement Leader to families, students, staff and community.
• Empower families to participate in the family and community engagement team and school decision-making.
• Provide families with training to facilitate student learning at home.
• Provide school staff with professional development to deepen relationships with families.
• Make home visits to engage families in school-related concerns.
• Plan and implement a two-way communication plan with the Principal and staff.
• Plan family events aligned to school improvement goals.
• Assist with materials budgeting and event logistics as needed.
• Participate on the school’s instructional leadership team (ILT).
• Make referrals to community resources.
