Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of urban teaching preferred.
• New York State teacher license/certification preferred.
• Dual certification in Special Education or TESOL preferred.
• Successful manager of an urban classroom with structure, incentives and high expectations.
• Experienced teacher with quantifiable student performance gains.
• Ability to work with diverse learners, including those with special needs.
• Team player with parents and community members.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and provide direct services for inclusion during core classes, including coaching, modeling or co-teaching with content teachers.
• Analyze data to understand student needs and determine instructional focus during intervention.
• Teach intervention groups for students in need.
• Collect and analyze progress monitoring data to inform instructional decisions.
• Facilitate progress monitoring reviews with building teams or PLCs to respond to data.
• Execute daily lesson plans for all assigned blocks and adhere to Persistence Prep routines.
• Submit weekly lesson plans and unit plans for feedback.
• Participate in professional development and coaching sessions; implement feedback.
• Communicate weekly with families and stakeholders; provide behavioral and academic feedback.
