Job summary

Westosoisd is seeking an Elementary Teacher (EC-6) for the 2026-2027 school year. You will provide core subject instruction, develop lessons, and foster a classroom environment that supports intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, plus the ability to manage behavior and communicate with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum with written prep evidence.
• Provide accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines, board policies, and admin regulations.
• Plan and use strategies, activities, materials, and equipment to meet student needs.
• Conduct assessment of student learning and use results to plan instruction.
• Work with staff to modify curricula for IEPs as needed.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Maintain communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
