Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lessons aligned with district curriculum and reflect accommodations.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials for diverse learners.
• Assess student learning styles and plan accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEP.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers.
• Assess student progress through ongoing evaluations.
• Lead extracurricular activities as assigned and modeled by the campus.
• Create a positive classroom environment and uphold school mission.
• Manage behavior per Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities; ensure safety.
• Assist in selecting books and instructional materials.
• Maintain records and required documentation.
• Establish professional relationships with parents and community.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings.
• Follow district policies and serve on committees as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Direct the work of assigned instructional aide(s).
