Job summary

Charter Schools USA is seeking an Elementary Daily Substitute to keep learning on track when the regular teacher is out. You will follow lesson plans, teach the assigned material, and document daily activities for the principal and school team.

You will maintain classroom routines, supervise students, and support a safe, productive environment while communicating with staff and upholding CSUSA policies and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Review plans with the principal, supervisor and/or designated teacher to follow during the teaching day.
• Teaches the lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Reports in writing the day's activities at the end of each day and provides feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follows all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consults with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not in the teacher's plans.
• Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversees pupil behavior in class and during the school day as requested.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior throughout the day.
• Maintains good relations with faculty and staff, and treats information about students and staff with confidentiality.
