Job summary

Perryton ISD is seeking a Classroom Teacher to provide engaging instruction in core subjects and support students' academic growth at the campus level. The teacher will align lessons with the district curriculum, manage a positive classroom environment, and collaborate with staff, parents, and specialists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training.
• ESL Certification if applicable.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum and show evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials suitable for diverse learning styles.
• Assess student learning styles and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides/volunteers and oversee completion.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned; be a positive role model.
• Establish professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and the community.
• Participate in staff development and participate in faculty meetings.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Direct the work of assigned instructional aide(s).
• Maintain reports, records, and other required documents.
