Job summary

Midwest City is seeking an Elementary Tier 1 Paraprofessional to assist the lead teacher in the classroom. You will tutor individuals or small groups, help implement lesson plans, and help maintain a safe, conducive learning environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; an associate's degree or the completion of certain tests or 48 college hours. The role is non-exempt and requires ability to work well with students and staff.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree or higher, or 48 college hours, or approved Oklahoma tests.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and materials.
Conduct learning activities with large and small groups.
Communicate with the classroom teacher to ensure a safe, productive learning environment.
Assist with supervision during instructional periods.
Oversee students during transitions, lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, and field trips.
Ensure the classroom is safe and clean.
Assist with technology-related instructional programs.
Collaborate to recognize issues and recommend solutions for students.
Develop a positive rapport with students.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
